PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of maintaining preferable deposition resistance during cutting, and having a long tool life.SOLUTION: The cutting tool such as an insert 1, includes multiple coating layers (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14) formed at a surface of a substrate 6. An outermost layer 14 of the coating layers contains at least one of a TiC phase, a TiN phase and a TiCN phase, and a TiOphase. In the outermost layer 14, a content ratio of the TiOphase on a substrate side is lower than that on a surface side. |
