PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel control device capable of controlling travel of a vehicle by suppressing deterioration in traffic flow.SOLUTION: The travel control device for controlling travel of an own vehicle by regulating the own vehicle's overtaking of a preceding vehicle traveling ahead on a passing lane determines whether the preceding vehicle is travelling on the passing lane at a travel speed slower than that of the own vehicle (S12 and S14), and performs travel control so as to overtake the preceding vehicle under prescribed conditions when determining that the preceding vehicle is travelling on the passing lane at a travel speed slower than that of the own vehicle (S26). As the result, the own vehicle overtakes the preceding vehicle and such travelling in accordance with the travel speed of the preceding vehicle suppresses deterioration in traffic flow on the travelling road.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
