Catheter for increasing the concentration of a natural or synthetic medicament in prostate tissue has urethral (4) and bladder (3) balloons and acts both as a urinary catheter and as a device for introducing medicaments. The section of the catheter which contacts the prostate has perforations (8) acting as outlets for medicament. An Independent claim is included for a method for increasing the concentration of a natural or synthetic medicament in prostate tissue comprising introducing it as a solution in a carrier liquid using the catheter. The carrier is DMSO or hyaluronidase.
