PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline accumulator having superior lifetime property and/or high rate discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: The alkaline accumulator is equipped with a positive electrode plate 12, a negative electrode plate 13 and a separator 14 which is disposed between the positive electrode plate 12 and the negative electrode plate 13. The separator 14 consists of fiber, and the fiber of 70 wt% or higher is made of specific polyamide fiber which consists of a polyamide obtained by superimposing diamine component and dicarboxylic acid component. The diamine component contains 1,9-nonane diamine and 2-methyl-1,8-octane diamine, and the dicarboxylic acid component contains terephthalic acid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
