PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain luminance irregularity without forming an auxiliary electrode at a position corresponding to an effective luminescent part or without newly forming an insulation film for keeping insulation between the auxiliary electrode and a negative electrode; and to reduce the area occupied by a part other than the effective luminescent part on a substrate. SOLUTION: A transparent first electrode 13, an organic EL (electroluminescent) layer 14 and a second electrode 15 are sequentially stacked on a glass substrate 12, and an insulating protective film 16 for protecting the EL layer 14 from oxygen and moisture is formed outside the second electrode 15. In the outside of the protective film 16, a conductive film 17 covering the second electrode 15 is formed with insulation from the second electrode 15 secured in a form where a part thereof is connected to a connection terminal 13a of the first electrode 13, and another part thereof is connected to an end opposite to the connection terminal 13a of the first electrode 13.
