PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of image pickup cameras needed to supervise a manufacturing line of workpieces such as lead frames. SOLUTION: This image recognition device includes a plurality of objective optical systems 11, 12 placed in respective image pickup positions S1, S2 on a workpiece conveying line 2; a single image pickup camera 14 for picking up a plurality of workpiece images from the plurality of objective optical systems at the same time; and a common image distribution optical system 13 for the plurality of objective optical systems. The image distribution optical system 13 distributes the plurality of workpiece images coming from the plurality of objective optical systems 11, 12 to cause the images to impinge on the camera lens system 14b of the single image pickup camera 14 at the same time so as to cause two workpiece images to coexist in one camera image of the single image pickup camera 14 in a distributed manner.
