<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that unprinted print data which is printed after changing a density characteristic sometimes reflect no density relation when the density characteristic is largely changed because of the exchange of ink/toner of a printer during printing and that the print data to be printed after changing the density characteristic causes the deterioration of print quality as a result of printing based on such improper print data. <P>SOLUTION: When the density characteristic of the printer is changed while the print data transmitted from a host device is printed, unchanged density information is compared with changed density information, printing density of the printer is controlled on the basis of a difference between the unchanged and changed density information, the density characteristic of the printer is made close to the unchanged density characteristic and the unprinted print data is subsequently printed. Consequently, it is possible to suppress the deterioration of print quality of the print data to be printed after changing the density characteristic even if the density characteristic is changed during printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
