<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device capable of adjusting backlash easily and keeping a satisfactory lubrication condition of a side bearing. <P>SOLUTION: A retainer 24 forming a male screw 41 is tightened in a mounting hole 23 opened in a differential carrier 20. The side bearing 25 supporting a differential case 26 rotatably is attached to the retainer 24 to adjust backlash of a ring gear 27 in accordance with the amount of tightening of the retainer 24. A lubricating oil passage 44 communicating a storage chamber 20a with the mounting hole 23 is formed in the differential carrier 20, and a lubricating oil hole 45 passing through in the radial direction is formed in the retainer 24. An annular channel 46 communicating the lubricating oil passage 44 with the lubricating oil hole 45 is formed in the retainer 24 to communicate the lubricating oil passage 44 with the lubricating oil hole 45 without being affected by a fixed position of the retainer 24 and keep the satisfactory lubrication condition of the side bearing 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
