<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas capable of efficiently preventing a size of a noble metal particle from coarsely increasing, and a production method of the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas comprises a noble metal particle 3 and a substrate 1 having the noble metal particle 3 carried thereon, wherein a compound 4 of the noble metal particle 3 and the substrate 1 is formed in at least a part of a region where the noble metal particle 3 and the substrate 1 contact each other, whereby the noble metal particle 3 is prevented from moving by the compound 4 (an anchor effect), so that a size of the noble metal particle 3 can be prevented from coarsely increasing to prevent a deterioration in purification capability of the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas with the use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
