A naval unit (1;30) is provided with at least one directional or stabiliser member (6) turning about at least one hinge axis (7), one electrohydraulic unit (15) arranged near the directional or stabiliser member to turn the directional or stabiliser member about the hinge axis and an autopilot assembly (16) presenting a distributed architecture and comprising at least one electronic control unit (17) dedicated to the electrohydraulic unit (15) and accommodated near the electrohydraulic unit (15) itself.
