<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a rise in the temperature of the periphery of an ejected paper tray without using a fan and capable of preventing transmission of heat to a toner container. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 according to the invention is the image forming apparatus that has an image forming section 12 for forming an image on a medium by use of toner, and a fixing section 13 for fixing the toner image on the medium, obtained as a result of the image formation by the image forming section 12. The image forming apparatus includes a communication path that has an intake port 22 and an exhaust port 26 in the lower part and upper part, respectively, of the apparatus.
