PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening and closing assisting device capable of reducing the number of constituent elements for control to be added and preventing increase of burden for control while switching between assist mode and auto mode satisfactorily.

SOLUTION: In this door opening and closing assisting device, a door opening and closing control computing part 81 computes door opening and closing control by switching the auto mode for opening and closing a vehicle door automatically into pseudo-operation force obtained by setting door opening and closing operation force inputted into computation of a driving order value for a motor 1 in a pseudo manner by the control of an operation mode switching part 811.
