<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric direct acting actuator having a short axial length. <P>SOLUTION: Between the outer diameter surface of a rotating shaft 14 driven through an electric motor 19 and the inner diameter surface of an outer ring member 15 secured to the outer diameter side of the rotating shaft 14, a plurality of planetary rollers 16 rotating while revolving as the rotating shaft 14 rotates are interposed. A spiral protrusion 25 is provided on the inner diameter surface of the outer ring member 15, a spiral groove 26 engaging with the spiral protrusion 25 is provided in the outer diameter surface of the planetary roller 16, a planetary carrier 17 is provided oppositely to the axial direction of the planetary roller 16, and a thrust ball bearing 27 for interrupting transmission of revolving motion of the planetary roller 16 to the planetary carrier 17 is provided between the planetary carrier 17 and the planetary roller 16.
