<p>The invention relates to a jellifiable-vitrifiable composition and to a process for preparing some vitrified gels for biomedical applications. The composition comprises physical mixtures of aterocollagen and bioactive polysaccharides and polypeptide and polysaccharide species lacking biological activity, having the role of adjuncts, excipients, charging agents and erodible pore-forming agents. The process for preparing the vitrified gels comprises three stages, namely: jellification, vitrification and controlled rehydration which are carried on under sterile conditions which do not denaturate the protein component, thereby resulting vitrified gels which are substrate-free or support-adhering, their surface being then post-processed by chemical or enzymatic erosion and sterilized.</p> |
