The present invention relates to a method for removing benzopyrene from a medicinal herb extract, the method comprising the following steps: preparing a crude extract, which is extracted from a medicinal herb through hot water or alcohol, or a butanol extract, which is extracted from the crude extract through butanol; adding an ethanol aqueous solution, a methanol aqueous solution, or a mixture thereof, and a non-polar solvent to the crude extract or the butanol extract, to prepare a mixed liquid; and removing a non-polar solvent layer from the mixed liquid. According to the present invention, the method for removing benzopyrene from a medicinal herb extract reduces the content of benzopyrene and maintains the physiochemical equivalence and medical efficacy of the medicinal herb extract, and thus can be very favorably used in the preparation of food or a medical product containing the medicinal herb extract. |
