Disclosed is an anti-inflammatory composition using a Litsea japonica (Thunb.) Juss. extract and litseakolides D2 isolated therefrom. More specifically, disclosed is an anti-inflammatory composition using a Litsea japonica (Thunb.) Juss. extract and litseakolides D2 isolated therefrom, which shows, in macrophage stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), inhibitory activity on the production of nitrogen monoxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), and inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6) as well as inhibitory activity on the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase(COX)-2.
