PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treatment of an inflammatory disorder in a subject.SOLUTION: A composition for treatment of a subject suffering from arthritis comprises a function blocking antibody or a fragment of the antibody in an amount effective to provide a decrease in the arthritic score of about 65% or greater compared to a control antibody treated subject. The function blocking antibody or fragment of the antibody is capable of binding an epitope of VLA-1. The epitope comprises amino acid residues 92-97 of figure 15.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
