METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COLOR DETECTION TO GENERATE TEXT COLOR

A method and apparatus for automatically selecting a color for overlay on an image or video for presentation on a media device. The system identifies the most prominent color in an image, finds the closest match to that color in a predetermined number of colors, and then uses the closest match color to color the font of the title that is overlaid on the image.

analyzing an image to determine a predominant color; comparing said predominant color to a plurality of colors to determine a matched color, wherein said matched color is one of said plurality of colors having a color closest to that of said predominant color; generating a text string; and displaying said image and said text string wherein said text string is displayed in said matched color.
