PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument for a vehicle which achieves space saving and yet is able to supply electric power to an external device.SOLUTION: A measuring instrument for a vehicle includes: a liquid-crystal display panel which utilizes electric power from an on-vehicle battery B to display vehicle information; an overvoltage protection circuit 4 provided between the on-vehicle battery B and the liquid-crystal display panel; and a DC/AC conversion circuit 9 which utilizes electric power of the on-vehicle battery B, which is supplied through the overvoltage protection circuit 4, to supply electric power to an external device D.
