PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately measure a workpiece with a paint material coated to a belt-like base material or a thickness of the base material, and facilitate measurement implementation.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic measurement method includes actual measurement ultrasonic sensor units 41 and 42 composed of first and second ultrasonic sensors and a calibration ultrasonic sensor unit 43 composed of the first and second ultrasonic sensors for calibrating an actual measurement value by the actual measurement ultrasonic sensor units 41 and 42, and is configured to: periodically measure a thickness of a reference material 7 arranged in the vicinity of a workpiece 6 and a thickness of the workpiece 6 by the calibration ultrasonic sensor unit 43 sequentially by moving the calibration ultrasonic sensor unit 43; then, actually measure a thickness of a certain point of the workpiece 6 measured right before by the calibration ultrasonic sensor unit 43 accompanied by travelling of the workpiece 6 by the actual measurement ultrasonic sensor units 41 and 42; and correct the actual measurement value by the actual measurement ultrasonic sensor units 41 and 42, using the sequentially measured calibration measurement values and thereby calculate a final thickness of the certain point of the workpiece 6. |
