A virtual machine deployment method, device and network function virtualization orchestrator (NFVO), the method comprising: determining that a time to start a virtual machine reserved for deployment in a set deployment strategy has been reached, and notifying a virtual core network virtual machine management module that the reserved virtual machine is operating, wherein, while the reserved virtual machine is operating, the virtual core network virtual machine management module expands or reduces a number of virtual machines to be within a range of a number of reserved virtual machines (S102); determining, according to the deployment policy, a current number of expanded or reduced virtual machines (S104); and deploying virtual machines according to the determined number of expanded or reduced virtual machines (S106). The method addresses the problem in the related art in which expanding or deallocating virtual machines is time-consuming and slows down service processing, degrading user experience. The method decreases the time taken to expand or deallocate a virtual machine, thereby raising service processing speed and improving user experience. |
