PURPOSE: A display module and a display device with the same are provided to eliminate a problem that a thickness and a weight increase due to a backlight unit and a panel necessary for generating light. CONSTITUTION: An absorbing layer(22) absorbs light of a total reflection layer(24). Light is reflected by mirror layers(28a,28b) wherein the light is vertically incident onto an inclined surface of the total reflection layer. The reflected light moves in the total reflection layer. The refractive index of a refractive index varying layer becomes a birefringence index if a voltage is applied. The light of the total reflection layer is emitted to the refractive index varying layer due to the birefringence index. |
