The charging is carried out by controlling power of charging element (15) to a predetermined value using an output signal of integrator (22) and at a time near the completion of the charging, charging element (15) is controlled by constant-voltage-control-circuit (17) so as to charge capacitor (11) up to a predetermined voltage. Consequently, the maximum temperature inside charging element (15) is reduced, thereby providing a charging apparatus with high reliability.</p>
