The drive has a power branching transmission (1) with a hydraulic pump (9) and a hydraulic motor (12), which are connected over control lines (10, 11), respectively. A storage unit (21) is connected with the line (10) or with the line (11), for storing brake energy, where the pump and the motor are mechanically connected with an output shaft (18). The transmission has a planetary gear (13), and the motor is connected with a unit of the gear and the hydraulic pump (9) is connected with another unit of the planetary gear.
