PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbon nanotube-containing material which contains dispersed single wall carbon nanotubes and emits fluorescence in a near-infrared region without performing centrifugal separation. SOLUTION: Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and carbon nanotubes of a bulk body comprising an aggregate in which single wall carbon nanotubes are flocculated are charged into water (H<SB>2</SB>O), so as to prepare a solution. The single wall carbon nanotubes are solubilized in the solution by the CMC, and are separated from the aggregate. The solution into which the single wall carbon nanotubes are dispersed is filtered with filters 21, 22, 23 using ultrasonic waves, so as to prepare a carbon nanotube solution into which the single wall carbon nanotubes are dispersed. The carbon nanotube solution is dropped onto a plate, and drying is performed, so as to prepare a carbon nanotube-containing film. The flocculation of the single wall carbon nanotubes is prevented by the CMC, and the carbon nanotube-containing film emits fluorescence in a near-infrared region. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
