PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely, simply and efficiently producing an imidoester hydrochloride. SOLUTION: The method for producing the imidoester hydrochloride comprises a step for reacting a nitrile with an alcohol in a hydrochloride solution in which hydrogen chloride is dissolved in a cycloalkylalkyl ether represented by formula (II): R<SP>1</SP>-O-R<SP>2</SP>(R<SP>1</SP>is a cyclopentyl group or cyclohexyl group which may have a substituent; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-10C alkyl group or 3-8C cycloalkyl group which may have a substituent) and (2) a step for separating the imidoester hydrochloride deposited as crystals from the reaction solution.
