PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing optical glass, capable of storing a lot of glass raw materials after preparation even when manufacturing the optical glass including a LaOcomponent as a principal component and a sulfur component or a halogen component and capable of reducing damage of a container, etc., for storing the prepared raw material.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing optical glass including a LaOcomponent in terms of an oxide composition comprises the raw material preparation step of preparing a glass raw material and the melting step of melting the glass raw material. In the raw material preparation step, 0.01% or more and 15.00% or less of volatile components consisting of one or more kinds selected from a sulfur component and a halogen component is included in total to the glass raw material, and the glass raw material is prepared so that the total content of hydrated water of raw materials of the volatile components and moisture adsorbed to the LaOraw material is 1.0 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
