摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel rod, a fuel assembly and a manufacturing method of the fuel rod capable of improving the reliability on airtightness when a silicon carbide composite is applied to a fuel clad.SOLUTION: A fuel rod 200 includes: a cladding tube 202 containing long fiber-reinforced silicon carbide composite as a material; two end plugs 203 which form a sealed space 208 by sealing two ends of the cladding tube 202 together with the cladding tube 202, which uses the long fiber-reinforced silicon carbide composite as the material; a nuclear fuel 201 which extends entirely in a rod-like shape being stored in a sealed space 208; and an airtight layer 210 which is formed extending over the entire inner surfaces of the cladding tube 202 and the two end plugs 203 each facing the sealed space 208. The airtight layer 210 may be formed while being in close-contact with the inner surface over the entire inner surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
