<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device capable of lessening generation of luminance unevenness when a plurality of light-emitting units are used as a primary light source and a gap is prepared between neighboring light-emitting units. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source device 10 includes the primary light source 4, and a light guide plate 1 wherein the primary light source 4 is arranged on an incident end face 8 as a side face and light emitted from the primary light source 4 is emitted from an emitting face 6. The primary light source 4 is formed with a plurality of light-emitting units 4a-4d arranged in a straight line shape. The length between both ends of the plurality of light-emitting units 4a-4d is a length or more in a width direction of the incident end face 8 while they are arranged on the incident end face 8 of the light guide plate 1. The distance between light-emitting sections of the neighboring light-emitting units 4a-4d is 1 to 5 mm. Further, a ratio of the length in the width direction of the light-emitting sections of the light-emitting units against the length in the width direction of the incident end face 8 of the light guide plate 1 is 70 to 99%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
