PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent a gift certificate from being illegally used and perform effective checkout.SOLUTION: A settlement device performs settlement processing about transaction in which registration processing is performed by a commodity registration device performing commodity registration of a purchased commodity. The settlement device comprises: reception means for receiving information on the basis of commodity identification information registered by the commodity registration device and gift certificate information as payment information; and settlement means for performing the settlement processing on the basis of the information received by the reception means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
