PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer supply unit that can perform image formation in a proper condition even when a charge attenuation property of a developer in a developer supply unit is different before and after replacement, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A developer supply unit 1 comprises a developer container 11 that has a recess 111 formed inside thereof where part of a developer is accumulated. A pair of electrodes 15 are electrodes arranged on both sides of a space in the recess 111 to face to each other. A detection part 7 detects capacitance or impedance between the pair of electrodes 15, and a control part changes an image forming condition according to a result of detection from the detection part 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
