PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the constitution of an intermediate transfer part compact and simple and to improve maintainability by detecting that an intermediate transfer belt is located at a specified position after completing the transfer of a previous color image to the intermediate transfer belt and then starting next color exposure for a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The circumferential length of the intermediate transfer belt 3 is set to a value obtained by adding length a little longer than the half of the circumferential length of the photoreceptor drum to the length in the longitudinal direction of the paper of A4 size being maximum paper size. After an image forming unit 12C reaches an image forming position 16, a laser exposure device 31 inputs signal light in the unit 12C according to a cyan signal this time and a cyan toner image is formed and transferred. At such a time, the write-in timing of the cyan signal light is controlled based on a signal from a position detector 10 so that the next cyan toner image may be aligned with a previously transferred black toner image when the belt 3 rotates once. Thus, the same operation is performed for magenta and yellow images. |
