PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a laser light detecting device operable for a long time even when a dry cell, a battery, etc., is used by further reducing the power consumption of the device. SOLUTION: In a laser light detecting device which detects laser light that is emitted from a laser light emitter and forms a reference plane, the power source 83 for a photo-sensor 5 that detects the laser light is automatically turned on when a construction machine is not operated and, when the construction machine is again started to operate, the power source 83 for a photo-sensor 5 is automatically turned on by detecting the vibration of the machine by means of a vibration sensor 82.
