摘要 A process is provided to produce a diacetal by a condensation reaction of an aromatic aldehyde and a polyhydric alcohol, which can increase a reaction activity and a yield by injecting a solution, obtained by dissolving the aromatic aldehyde in a hydrophobic organic solvent, slowly. The process comprises the steps of: stirring a C5-C6 polyhydric alcohol, an acid catalyst, and water; injecting 0.05-15pts.wt.(based on 100pts.wt. of the aromatic aldehyde and the polyhydric alcohol) of a surfactant selected from a polyethylene alkyl aryl ether, a polyethylene alkyl ester, a polyethylene alkyl amine, a polyethylene glycol, and etc. into the mixture; preparing the solution by dissolving the aromatic aldehyde in the hydrophobic organic solvent; injecting the aromatic aldehyde solution slowly into the mixture and reacting at 65-100deg.C; neutralizing, filtering, cleansing, and drying. The aromatic aldehyde is represented by the formula 1, wherein R is an alkyl group or a halogen group and n is an integer of 0-5.
