<p>The present invention provides a spindle spacing and leveling device that includes a plurality of plates (20, 30, 40), said plates being moveable in relation to one another. In the preferred emodiment, a first spacer plate (20) is provided. Movably attachable to one side of the spacer plate is an adjustment spacer plate (40). Movably attachable to the opposite side of the first spacer plate is a spindle grip and holder plate (30). One end of each plate includes an edge (24, 34, 44) that extends generally at a 90° angle relative to the plane of the plate. The edge of the first spacer plate and the edge of the spindle grip and holder plate are used to position the device atop a portion of a longitudinally extending and vertically situated reference spindle. A level (48) may also be incorporated within the adjustment spacer plate to ensure that vertical positioning of the spindle is maintained.</p> |
