<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of comparatively easily and securely updating a correction parameter for a density correction and making the density correction using the correction parameter when forming a visible image at a high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms each visible image per page by forming a main scanning line image in a sub-scanning direction based upon a synchronous signal in the sub-scanning direction, makes a density correction by using a correction parameter when forming the visible image, detects the density of a reference density image formed between pages assigned to the visible images, and updates a correction parameter based upon the detected density. The image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of memory areas storing the correction parameters used for the density corrections; a selection signal generating means 351 for generating a selection signal synchronized with the synchronous signal in the sub-scanning direction; and a selection switching means 320 for selectively switching an effective memory area among the plurality of memory areas based upon the selection signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
