PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable engagement operation of a friction engagement element at a proper timing even when shifting gears at an operation point different from that in a normal gear-shifting. SOLUTION: When shifting gears into a predetermined target speed stage at the operation point different from that in the normal gear-shifting, a time correcting means corrects a backlash propagation time in accordance with a difference of two squares between the revolution speed of a piston calculated by a normal-gear-shifting piston revolution speed calculating means and the revolution speed of the piston detected by a piston revolution speed detecting means. A gear-shifting starting timing determining means performs gear-shifting in accordance with a releasing time and the corrected backlash elimination time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
