PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption at the time of standby status of an electrical appliance which is operated by remote control. SOLUTION: When a recorder 1 is at the time of standby status, power supply from a power supply 18 to each element belonging to a first section 10 is continuously stopped, and execution and stoppage of power supply from the power supply 18 to each element belonging to a second section 20 are repeated according to an intermittent operation pattern.
