PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the lifetime of phosphor and reduce manufacturing cost of forming the phosphor. SOLUTION: A plurality of display electrodes 11, a dielectric layer 14 to cover these, and a protection layer 15 to cover this are formed on a first substrate 10 on the front face side, a plurality of address electrodes ADD to form unit light-emitting regions at the crossing parts crossing the display electrodes are formed on a second substrate 20, and a third substrate 30 which is adhered interposing the second substrate and phosphors 36 is provided, and the first and the second substrates are sealed through barrier ribs 24 to demarcate the unit light-emitting regions. Since the phosphors 36 are separated from the discharge space by the second substrate 20, deterioration due to ion bombardment is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
