<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately detect a concentration of gas such as carbon monoxide by protecting a sensor from malfunctioning or causing a measurement error due to a flow rate of exhaust gas, temperature thereof or condensation. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust gas measuring device comprises an extraction pipe 4 and an exhaust gas sensor 5. The extraction pipe 4 is arranged in a manner that extends obliquely upward on a wall of an exhaust gas passage 2 from a combustion equipment. A portion of the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas passage 2 is taken out through a takeoff passage 6, turned back at an edge section of the takeoff passage 6 and returned to the exhaust gas passage 2 through a return passage 7. The exhaust gas sensor 5 which is installed in a concave portion 8 to the upper part arranged in the return passage 7 detects a concentration of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen or nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas. Being installed in the concave portion 8, the exhaust gas sensor 5 can avoid direct contact with exhaust gas flow. Also, being positioned away from the exhaust gas passage 2, the exhaust gas sensor 5 is not subject to high temperature.
