PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide efficient and economic synthetic and purification processes of dipyridamole which is a medicine for therapy and prophylaxis of thrombo-embolisms.SOLUTION: Dipyridamole having a greatly lower impurity level in a raw product than that obtained by a prior art process is easily produced with simple after-treatment and purification procedures as a result by reacting 2,6-dichloro-4,8-dipiperidino-pyrimido(5,4-d)pyrimidine with diethanolamine at a temperature lower than 130°C. The method of synthesizing dipyridamole comprises: mixing 2,6-dichloro-4,8-dipiperidino-pyrimido(5,4-d)pyrimidine with diethanolamine; heating; adding a C3-6 alkyl alcohol; thereafter adding a hydrocarbon solvent; thereafter adding water; thereafter cooling; and isolating an obtained solid of dipyridamole.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
