PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airflow adaptor for a breath-actuated dry powder inhaler with means for breaking down agglomerates of a medicament, or a medicament and a carrier, prior to inhalation.SOLUTION: There is provided an airflow adaptor 200 for a breath-actuated dry powder inhaler. The airflow adaptor includes a conduit 202 having a proximal end 201 and a distal end. The proximal end allows fluid communication from a deagglomerator outlet port to the distal end of the conduit. The airflow adaptor further includes means 204, 205, 206, 210, 211, 212 for allowing air to flow from a proximal end of the adaptor to a distal end of the adaptor independently of the airflow in the conduit when a breath induced low pressure is applied to the distal end of the airflow adaptor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
