PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a constitution of a work head in order to set the head to switch to a working position or a retracting position at a low manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A work head unit for a woodworking machine or the like comprises a working head A vertically moved by a pneumatic cylinder 2 and provided at a mounting base 1. The head unit further comprises a flange plate 8 mounted at a case of a motor 4 of the head A and having three holes 9. The head unit also comprises a bearing plate 10 mounted at the base 1 and having protrusions 11 corresponding to the holes 9. When the head A is operated to be descent and set to the working position, the protrusions 11 are engaged with the holes 9 to hold the position. A distal end of each of the protrusions 11 is tapered and engaged with the hole 9.
