PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever lock device 1 for a vehicular automatic transmission capable of contributing reduction of a production cost by forming an electromagnetic solenoid part 9 capable of saving a space and reducing a size in a simple structure without generating a disagreeable operation noise. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic solenoid part 9 is provided with a coil 7, a fixed core 10 and a movable core 11, and the fixed core 10 is disposed coaxially with a solenoid 8. The movable core 11 is approached and separated to and from the fixed core 10 along the direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and is energized to a separating position separated from the fixed core 10 by a lateral compression coil spring 13. When locking of a shift lever is released, the shift lever is displaced from a P range to other range positions while the movable core 11 is attracted to the fixed core 10 by supply of electric power to the solenoid 8.
