PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a tire rim from being damaged by heightening the strength of a rim protector. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is equipped with a tread 1 having a crown shape, a pair of bead parts 5, and a pair of side walls 2 to couple the tread 1 with the bead parts 5, wherein at least one of the side walls 2 is furnished with a ring-shaped rim protector 3 directed from the bead parts 5 to the tread 1 and continuing in the tire circumferential direction in the range till 1/2 of the height H in the tire section, and studs 4 are driven into the top surface 3a of the rim protector 3.
