PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool and an inner diameter machining method using the cutting tool having a long service life hardly chipped or wearing while attaining excellent machined surface roughness even in machining a minimum inner diameter. SOLUTION: This cutting tool 1 having a projecting part 5 projected from a tool holder 2 inserts the projecting part 5 in the inner diameter of a workpiece to carry out machining, wherein at least the projecting part 5 of a throwaway tip 4 is formed of a sintered alloy containing iron group metal at the rate of 5 mass% or more, and the residual magnetic flux density of the sintered alloy is 50×10<SP>-4</SP>T or more.
