<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder that prevents a toner in an image forming unit from being wasted. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter 22 is disposed below a port 20 through which a toner is supplied from a toner cartridge 16 to an image forming unit 5. A toner sensor 25 for detecting an amount of the remaining toner is disposed in the image forming unit 5. An amount of the toner used for printing an image is calculated by counting print dots. When the expiration of the life of the image forming unit 5 is detected, the supply of the toner from the toner cartridge 16 is stopped by the shutter 22. Recording images is stopped at the point when counting the print dots indicates that the prescribed amount of the toner has been used after the point when the toner sensor 25 detected that the amount of the toner remaining in the image forming unit 5 has been constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
