<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a case where the characteristics of a display device or the characteristics of a user have been changed, without changing an application. <P>SOLUTION: This display controller, on receiving a display request message about paper jam (step S1), acquires the display characteristics of a display (step S2), and acquires user information on a context (step S3). Then, the display controller acquires style information corresponding to the display characteristics acquired in the step S2 and user information acquired in the step S3 (step S4).
