The proposed controlled frequency converter contains, in each phase circuit, a reference voltage source, bidirectional semiconductor power switches, a control pulse forming circuit for the power switches, a modulator, a triangular voltage signal generator, a subtracting unit, a level sampling unit, a control unit, a pulse distributor, and additionally, an auxiliary pulse forming circuit and pulse switches for the first and the last power switches. The pulse distributor contains an additional input, which is connected to the output of the auxiliary pulse forming circuit. The input of the auxiliary pulse forming circuit is connected to the corresponding output of the level sampling unit. The outputs of the pulse switches are connected to the corresponding inputs of the control pulse forming circuit. Two signal input of the pulse switch are connected to the corresponding outputs of the modulator, and two other signal inputs are connected to the corresponding outputs of the pulse distributor. The control inputs pf the pulse switches are connected to the corresponding outputs of the pulse distributor.
