<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrator retention mechanism which retains the vibrator properly in a vibration motor to enable the vibrator to generate stable vibration and a vibration motor equipped with the vibrator retention mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: There is adopted for a vibration motor a vibrator retention mechanism comprising a vibrator which has a stab-shaped output part at one end and generates a desired motion in the stab-shaped output part by vibration; a retention member which holds the vibrator to accommodate it; and a shock absorbing member composed of an elastic material and disposed between the vibrator and the retention member. The shock absorbing member is such that a first surface thereof abutting on the retention member is larger in area than a second surface abutting on the vibrator, and that a cross sectional shape at center line passing through the first and the second surfaces is axially symmetric. At least one such shock absorbing member is disposed between the vibrator and the retention member, with the vibrator accommodated in the retention member, so that the vibrator is held in a state in which it can vibrate as desired. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
